Hugo Ernesto Argueta Vasquez, 43, was apprehended with an assist from the agency's aerial and K9 units following an alleged sexual assault in a Reston apartment complex, officials say.

According to police, at around 5:30 a.m. on July 17, officers were called to Charter Oak Court, when Argueta Vasquez allegedly gained entry through an unlocked door and entered his victim's bedroom while they were sleeping.

The victim was able to fight off Argueta Vasquez, who fled before officers arrived.

With an assistance from the helicopter and K9, officers were able to locate Argueta Vasquez near the scene.

Both he and his victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation found that in December last year, Argueta Vasquez allegedly entered a different residence in the same apartment complex and attempted to sexually assault a different victim, who also was able to fight him off.

The Reston resident was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of burglary with intent to commit a felony and stalking.

Argueta Vasquez is being held there without bond.
